Peter Salerno Inc.’s Kitchen Design Lands Prestigious Cover
Utilizing gorgeous transitional kitchen design and Fall 2016’s Pantone color palette, Peter Salerno Inc. recently created another stunning kitchen. Now, that kitchen design is featured on the cover (and in a beautiful article) of the Fall 2016 edition of Bergen Magazine.
The Ramsey, New Jersey kitchen was designed by Peter Salerno Inc., along with interior designer Debbie Crispano at Interior Distinction in Ridgewood, NJ. Pairing transitional kitchen design elegance with personalized luxury, the result is a breathtaking kitchen that will be both stylish AND functional for years to come.
Mirroring the Fall 2016 Pantone color palette and the latest in transitional kitchen design trends, Peter Salerno and Debbie Crispano centered their design around blues, grays, and earth tones. (These colors reflect Pantone’s Fall 2016 selections like Airy Blue, Riverside, and Sharkskin.)
The Bergen Magazine article, penned by Nicole Lupo, is a masterful walk-through of the transitional kitchen from start to finish. The centerpiece of the kitchen design (and therefore the article) is the “denim” blue-gray kitchen island, adorned with a Danby Marble countertop and modern seating that evokes upscale restaurant bar-and-counter seating.
The walls are painted with Sherwin-Williams Notable Blue, quite the appropriate name for a shade of blue that so perfectly walks the line between statement and neutral. Reminiscent of the Airy Blue hue that dominates Fall 2016 design trends, the walls are the perfect compliment to much of the decor – from seating to valances to pottery.
The custom cabinetry from Peter Salerno Inc. is a neutral white to match the Danby Marble island countertop and shelving. The range sits in front of a neutral-yet-appealing backsplash and topped with shelving that casts the silhouette of a grand piano – a Peter Salerno Inc. trademark design.
Matching form with function, the flooring is a porcelain wood tile. Coupling the gorgeous aesthetic of dark, weathered wood with the durability of porcelain tile ensures that the floor will look great AND hold strong. It’s the perfect way to get that transitional kitchen flooring “feel” while making sure it can withstand the toll of kids, guests and the family dog.
Credit goes to Debbie Crispano of Interior Distinction (Ridgewood, NJ) and the kitchen owners for selecting the chairs, window treatments and light fixtures. The bold statement lighting was an inspired choice to add a bit of flair to the cleanliness of the transitional kitchen design.
A final touch of ingenuity is the smoked mirror features on the refrigerator panels. The mirror panels make the open floor plan of this kitchen feel even bigger, while the smokiness of the glass eliminates glare from the ambient light of the windows. The smoked mirrors also pair exceptionally well with the gray and blue-gray elements of the transitional design.
