NorthJersey.com | Top 5 Kitchen Designs for Chefs

Laura Adams Stiansen of NorthJersey.com recently ranked the “Top 5 New Jersey Kitchens Designed for a Chef (or chef at heart)” – and we love her list!

Laura’s list of featured designers is a high-class “Who’s Who” of kitchen designers and kitchen design firms. From Peter Salerno Inc. to Ulrich, Kitchen Kaboodle to Anthony Albert Studios and Kuche+Cucina, these design firms (and their kitchen designs) have left both professional chefs and enthusiastic, serious home cooks in awe.

The contractors featured on these designs, in no order, are Kuche+Cucina, Anthony Vero, Ulrich, Jim Van Orden, and Ulrich.

Laura Adams Stiansen’s list of kitchen designs piqued our interest due to its attention to detail and appeal to multiple types of consumers, chefs and families. Her featured kitchen designs include “For a growing family”, “for a rising culinary creator”, and “for the master chef”.

From Laura’s introduction to this article:

Whether your family is growing from four to five or if your new hobby is creating innovative dishes with the ingredients you have on hand — having the right tools in your kitchen is important. Space, shelving and high-end appliances are all pieces that need to fit together to create the perfect kitchen.

The designers of these world-class chef’s kitchen designs were happy to speak regarding their creations.

“The best part of this project was the collaboration with the owners,” Peter Salerno stated to the author. “They are artistic, and were not afraid to go with something edgy. They listened to my ideas and asked how we could bring it up a notch.”

“I feel it’s always best that we get involved before construction begins to be certain all the client’s wants and needs can be met,” Anthony Passanante of Anthony Albert Studios added.

Peter Salerno Named Top Kitchen and Bath Industry Innovator

Kitchen & Bath Design News Names 2017 Top 50 Innovators

It is with great pride that we announce the owner of our parent company, Peter Salerno, as one of the Top 50 Innovators in the kitchen and bath design industry for 2017!

The Top 50 Innovators list, created by Kitchen & Bath Design News, celebrates ingenuity and expertise in the fields of custom kitchen and bath design. This is the inaugural version of the KBDN “The Innovators” list, and it features a veritable “Who’s Who” in the kitchen and bath design industry.

KBDN presents its inaugural list of "The Innovators" in its October 2017 issue.

Peter Salerno owns Peter Salerno Inc., the most award-winning North American custom kitchen and bath design firm of the 21st century. This list of awards includes the KBIS Most Innovative Showroom award, bestowed upon Peter and his firm 2 years ago at the NKBA’s prestigious convention.

“The Innovators” is a list dedicated to dealers, industry leaders and designers in the field of kitchen and bath design. As Kitchen & Bath Design News states rather perfectly in their article:

…[I]n the celebration of design, the very professionals who create those projects and elevate the industry are sometimes overlooked. Yet great design doesn’t exist in a vacuum; the kitchen and bath industry continues to prosper largely due to the efforts of innovators who aren’t afraid to lead the way and chart their own course, whether through design, education, technology, showroom development, community service, new business models or specialty areas that evolve alongside today’s ever-changing consumers.

“I get excited when I see a client who truly wants to do something different and artistic,” Peter Salerno told KBDN in his Innovators interview.

It’s always an honor for Peter Salerno and his team to look back on the times Peter Salerno Inc. has been featured in Design New Jersey magazine. One of these articles was in the December/January 2013 issue of Design NJ, when writer Meg Fox outlined Peter Salerno Inc.

In her article “The Art of Cabinetry”, Meg Fox interviewed Peter Salerno exclusively for Design New Jersey magazine, discussing both Peter’s gorgeous Wyckoff showroom and his family tradition of fine cabinetry and design.

An excerpt from Ms. Fox’s 2013 Design New Jersey article:

When Peter Salerno, a certified master kitchen and bathroom designer, decided to update his Wyckoff showroom, the word “update” took on a whole new meaning, he says. Triple the size of the old one and with more than double the office space, the new Peter Salerno Inc. showroom in Wyckoff is a complete design center that showcases the most advanced technology and innovative design features.

“As a child, my dream was to be an artist,” Salerno says. After being in the kitchen and bath industry for over 30 years, he feels he has fulfilled that dream by creating what he calls an “art gallery through cabinetry.” Furniture-quality cabinets are custom made, and the vignettes showcase an assortment of styles and cutting-edge designs that demonstrate the industry’s latest trends. All components—from heating to music and lighting—are controlled from a main panel, iPhone or iPad.

It’s a perfect time to look back on this article, as we’ve spent the latter half of this month discussing Peter Salerno and his award-winning Maestro Rosolino cabinetry line. Take a moment and read the full article, as well as view exclusive Peter Salerno Inc. showroom and design photos!

Peter Salerno Inc. NJ Design Featured in Magazine

A new article in the latest issue of Design New Jersey Magazine features a gorgeous re-design of a Peter Salerno Inc. custom kitchen design in Saddle River, New Jersey.

The article, titled “All About Scale”, chronicles Peter Salerno’s assignment to re-design a New Jersey kitchen he had installed 16 years ago. The task was an interesting challenge, as Peter had the opportunity to update one of his own custom kitchen designs from earlier in his career.

One of the challenges presented in the re-design was a request for more usable space. As the piece notes, “The new kitchen has 8- and 9-foot islands topped with 2-inch thick white Danby marble.” The homeowner, who valued more island space for the kitchen in the new design, was highly pleased with the design update offered by Peter and his team.

A highlight of the new kitchen design is the stunning statement lighting above the dual islands, which captures the eye immediately upon entry. The fixture is accented further by the gorgeous unadorned white which covers much of the kitchen design, as well as the coffered ceiling above it. A gorgeous twin stove and range are topped by an appealing, massive range hood. Ample cabinet space is found everywhere one looks in the re-designed kitchen.

The finishing touch of this open plan, fresh kitchen design is the large outside window, which casts copious amounts of light throughout the room, giving it a peaceful glow and a scenic view from over the counter and sink.

The article (written by Mary Vinnedge with photos by Peter Rymwid) appears in the latest issue of Design New Jersey magazine, the pre-eminent interior design magazine for homeowners and designers in and around the New Jersey area. The issue is available for purchase now.

Decorating with fresh flowers (especially lavender) is a hot 2015 design trend.

Earlier this year, Peter Salerno and the Peter Salerno Inc. team were featured by The Record (one of New Jersey’s most notable and highly-circulated newspapers) in an outstanding design piece by staff writer Nancy Kearney.

The article, entitled “Hot design trends for kitchens”, focused on key kitchen design elements for transitional kitchens as well as trending design elements for kitchen updates. Nancy took the time from her busy schedule to reach out to Peter Salerno for a few quotes about transitional kitchen design and how to balance trends with a look you can love for years to come.

A quote from the article, which can be found at this original link (read it to find out more hot kitchen design trends for 2015!):

Shapes and materials are evolving, says Salerno, who has incorporated items such as leather, coconut shells, antique mirrors or reclaimed tin ceilings into the backsplash. In this way, the backsplash “becomes a piece of art,” he says.

Many thanks to Nancy Kearney, The Record, NorthJersey.com and photographer Peter Rymwid for all their contributions to this wonderful article, as well as congratulations to the other designers featured in the piece!
