The HGTV People’s Choice Awards are voted on exclusively by the people – not industry insiders, experts or a panel of judges. This fact makes Peter Salerno and the team at Peter Salerno Inc. feel especially honored to receive their award.

The kitchen design that won the 2016 HGTV People’s Choice Award for Peter Salerno Inc. featured gorgeous custom gray and white cabinetry, handcrafted by Peter Salerno Inc. from their Maestro Rosolino collection.

As the NKBA website states in reference to its 2015 Kitchen and Bath Style Report:

By the very nature of kitchen and bathroom remodeling and construction, trends in our industry don’t change as quickly as fashion or even furniture. Many products that go into kitchens and bathrooms are built to last a generation or more. Yet every year, we see innovative new products emerging and taking off, generating new insights for trend spotters. Since NKBA members are on the cutting edge of kitchen and bathroom design, this survey is useful in identifying emerging trends, such as the big shift from traditional to contemporary, and use of multiple colors and styles in the kitchens.

The team at Peter Salerno Inc. wishes to say thank you to the NKBA for the honor of being featured in its official 2015 Kitchen and Bath Style Guide, which is available for purchase now.

Peter Salerno’s Favorite Cinco De Mayo Drink Recipe: Tres Agaves Margarita

Peter Salerno’s Favorite Cinco De Mayo Drink Recipe: Tres Agaves Margarita

Learn How to Make 2015’s Best Cinco De Mayo Margarita Recipe

It’s no secret that Peter Salerno’s favorite online recipe source is Epicurious (it’s been featured so many times on our blog, we’ve lost count!). So when it came time to find the very best 2015 Cinco De Mayo margarita recipe, Epicurious had the answer – of course!

The Tres Agaves Margarita blends the classic tequila taste of a margarita with the sweet-and-sour blend of fresh lime and agave nectar. (Agave nectar, also called agave syrup, is produced from several types of agave plants, including the blue agave. Don’t be fooled, though – agave nectar is actually sweeter than honey!)

The recipe comes to us through Epicurious from Tres, an outstanding restaurant in San Francisco, and this is their house specialty blend of margarita. Served in an old-fashioned or rocks glass as opposed to a margarita or martini glass, this margarita is shorter in size but much, much longer in memorable flavor. And don’t worry – it packs all the punch you want! (It’s no wonder it currently has a perfect 4 fork rating on Epicurious!)

It is hotly debated when the margarita originated, but no one questions where the margarita is from – it’s as authentically Mexican as Cinco de Mayo itself.

Did you know? Cinco de Mayo is NOT Mexico’s Independence Day (Sept. 16th), but rather a celebration of the day the Mexican Army defeated the heavily-favored French in the Battle of Puebla.

Enjoy this outstanding Cinco de Mayo drink recipe for the Tres Agaves Margarita. Thanks to Epicurious and Tres, Peter Salerno’s 2015 Cinco de Mayo just got much more delicious!

Cinco De Mayo Margarita Recipe: Tres Agaves Margarita (courtesy Epicurious):

Ingredients

  • 1/2 ounce agave nectar
  • 1/2 water
  • 2 ounces tequila made from 100 percent agave, such as Patron, Don Julio, and Corazón
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice

Preparation

In glass or small bowl, combine agave nectar and water, and stir until combined. In cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine tequila, agave nectar mixture, and lime juice. Shake vigorously, then strain into old-fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.

Peter Salerno’s New Showroom Display to Feature #TheMieleRange

Leave it to Miele to revolutionize the way we see kitchen appliances.

When Peter Salerno and the Peter Salerno Inc. family decided to update their award-winning showroom with a new transitional kitchen design vignette, there was only one choice for the range to be featured: the flagship, 48-inch range from Miele. It’s a range so incredible, Miele is comfortable referring to it simply as “The Miele Range”.

“I’m thrilled to have the new Miele 48-inch range as the centerpiece of our new transitional kitchen showroom vignette,” Peter Salerno said. “It truly is the definition of modern transitional design.”

Recently, Peter Salerno and his son Anthony took a trip to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, to experience a day of cooking and culinary craftsmanship with master chefs.

While each chose to take a separate CIA cooking class, both learned incredible CIA chef recipes that they will certainly use for the rest of their lives.

Anthony attended the Under the Sea (seafood) course, while Peter Salerno chose the Mediterranean Cuisine cooking class.

Both Peter and Anthony raved about their experience (not to mention they brought home enough food to last them for days!) at the Culinary Institute of America.

If you are anywhere near the CIA facilities in Hyde Park, NY, St. Helena, CA, or San Antonio, TX, Peter Salerno implores you to expand your cooking horizons and take a course at the CIA nearest you. It’s a true master class in cooking.

Peter Salerno was so enamored with the recipes he learned at his CIA Mediterranean Cuisine cooking class, he’s sharing two of them with you today:

  • Chicken Tagine with Apricots and Golden Raisins
  • Paella with Quail, Shrimp and Chorizo

Both dishes are fresh takes on classic Mediterranean fare, and Peter and his family were thrilled with the results. We hope you are too! Please enjoy these recipes and share them with your loved ones.
