From the official Pantone website, regarding the Pantone Spring/Summer 2020 Fashion Color Trend Report:

8 PANTONE Colors For Your 2020 Kitchen Design

Classic Blue (PANTONE 19-4052 TCX)

Collection: Spring/Summer 2020 and Autumn/Winter 2020-2021

Pantone 2020 Color of the Year Classic Blue

Naturally, the anchor of this article is Classic Blue, the Pantone 2020 Color of the Year. Reassuring, relaxing and natural, Classic Blue is about as versatile a cool tone as you’re going to find. Check out some of our previous notes on how to apply Classic Blue in your designs.

Brilliant White (PANTONE 11-4001 TCX)

Collection: Spring/Summer 2020

Pantone 2020 color kitchen design Brilliant White

The hint of blue undertone to Brilliant White makes it an amazing complementary color to Classic Blue (and most of the colors on this list). Brilliant White is a vibrant standout that feels custom-built for kitchen design in 2020 – fresh, sleek, clean and able to stand on its own in an all-white kitchen. Use with confidence!

Sandstone (PANTONE 16-1328 TCX)

Collection: Autumn/Winter 2020-2021

Pantone 2020 color kitchen design Sandstone

Sandstone is a smart, sturdy neutral that reminds us of rich tan stone and lightly stained wood. A great option as a “backbone” in your kitchen design color palette, Sandstone can work just about anywhere – cabinetry, flooring, tile, paint or decor.

Samba (PANTONE 19-1662 TCX)

Collection: Autumn/Winter 2020-2021

Pantone 2020 color kitchen design Samba

Looking to spice your 2020 kitchen design up a bit? Samba is a great choice, with its “kick” of deep chili pepper red. While certainly not an “all-over” color, Samba provides punch in the right doses and spaces – tile accents, decor, and more.

Saffron (PANTONE 14-1064 TCX)

Collection: Spring/Summer 2020

Pantone 2020 color kitchen design Saffron

Perhaps the sunniest tone of Pantone’s 2020 color offerings, we love Saffron for its cheery disposition. Who wouldn’t love to walk into their kitchen in the morning and be greeted by the warmth of Saffron? From a bold backsplash to smartly-applied paint to dishware and decor, this is a really fun color to play with in your kitchen design!

Sunlight (PANTONE 13-0822 TCX)

Collection: Autumn/Winter 2020-2021

Pantone 2020 color kitchen design Sunlight

If you like the warmth of Saffron without all the “pizzazz”, Sunlight may be more your style. A cozier blend of “tan neutral” and “yellow” notes, Sunlight is much more easily paired with some of the other offerings on this list. Applicable as a lead tone in a neutral kitchen or an accent in a bolder one, Sunlight is a pleasant surprise.

Mosaic Blue (PANTONE 18-4528 TCX)

Collection: Spring/Summer 2020

Pantone 2020 color kitchen design Mosaic Blue

Mosaic Blue is a bit more specific in its usage as a kitchen design color, but it can pay major dividends in the right hands! This blue-green tone evokes natural themes of the sea and lush forests, and is a stand-apart choice for a beach or nautical-themed kitchen. Do you own a beach home or shore house? Think about Mosaic Blue!

Sleet (PANTONE 16-3916 TCX)

Collection: Autumn/Winter 2020-2021

Pantone 2020 color kitchen design Sleet

Every great color design concept needs a sturdy base. We love Sleet for its calm, reliable gray – just dark enough to be supportive, just light enough not to dominate the palette. Sleet is one of those perfect colors for tile, island counter space and furniture. If clean, neutral and sophisticated is your goal, look at Sleet for your 2020 kitchen design.

PANTONE Colors To Watch At the 2020 Academy Awards

The Academy Awards are more than a celebration of cinema – they’re an annual symbol of style, trends and luxury. From the Oscar stage to the red carpet, styles and trends for the entire year are often defined on one night in Los Angeles, California.

The 2020 Academy Awards are no different. With a multitude of stars descending on LA for the 2020 Oscars ceremony, the eyes of the world will focus keenly on those in attendance. The 92nd annual Academy Awards (and the red carpet before them) will be draped in beautiful color and elegant style.

But which colors will steal the show at the 2020 Oscars?

There’s “Oscars Gold”, of course. The classic color and silhouette of the statuette itself are legendary. But what’s the best color match for the actual red carpet? What is the color of Joaquin Phoenix’s infamous suit in the film Joker? What’s the exact color match for the yellow in the Toy Story logo? And what colors are destined to shine on the Oscars red carpet in 2020?

Here’s a list of colors you should be looking out for while you watch the 92nd annual Academy Awards!

Water Nymph is perhaps our favorite of all the trending green PANTONE colors. Set as a metallic complement to Classic Blue in textile palettes, we love the accompanying color in virtually all formats (PANTONE 20-0187 TPM, for reference). Explore the Metallic Shimmer, but don’t rule out designing with the “matte” version as well – it’s a lush medium green we can’t resist at Christmas.

2020 seems to be ushering in some blue-green color choices, and we’ve chosen Forest Biome (PANTONE 19-5230 TCX) from their ranks. Several green tones on our list evoke images of food and spices in your holiday kitchen (Green Olive, Chive).

Rounding out our “list of six” are the 2019 standout Eden and the cheery Classic Blue palette companion Jasmine Green. Whether your Christmas design aesthetic is “merry and bright” or “Holly and Ivy”, we think you’ll find a trendy PANTONE shade of green to love this holiday season on our list!

Which red is the RIGHT red for Christmas design in 2019? The palette certainly couldn’t be any broader; there are 256 available HEX codes for red, and that’s only in web design (currently). Add in the fact that in reality “off screen” there are roughly 10 million colors perceptible by the human eye at any given moment, and it makes choosing “the perfect Christmas red” seem impossible.

Luckily, we have color experts like the team at PANTONE to guide the way. Like Rudolph’s bright red nose, PANTONE guides our way through the 2019 holiday design season and points us to six trending red colors that are all the rage for this year’s Christmas design palettes.

You won’t be shocked to see a traditional red like Cranberry leading the charge. But take particular note of the gorgeous Space Cherry, pulled from a metallic version of the same color in an aforementioned Classic Blue PANTONE color palette.

Prepare for Fiery Red and other blazing colors like it as we head into the Spring 2020 design season; they’re on trend in a big way. If you’re looking for a more sedate red tone to decorate your home this Christmas, we really enjoy working with the reddish-brown Bossa Nova.

Classic Blue has been announced as the 2020 PANTONE Color of the YearNow that the announcement has been made and initial reactions have been expressed, there’s only one thing left to do… get to designing!

PANTONE 2020 Color of the Year Classic Blue Ponder Palette
PANTONE 2020 Color of the Year Classic Blue Ponder Palette

Classic Blue (PANTONE 19-4052) is steady, reliable & familiar, like an old favorite pair of blue jeans. As we stated in our previous article, the design benefits of a backbone as sturdy as Classic Blue are large. PANTONE is already suggesting color palettes for designing with Classic Blue which are varied and inspiring. It’s a reassurance that a steady base tone can still create audacious, bold color design options.

While some of the more glitzy and non-traditional palettes are grabbing headlines, the most serene Classic Blue color palette may be our favorite. PANTONE crafted the Ponder color palette as a soothing visual trip to the beach, with sand, water & sky permeating the collection. Anchored by 3 quite varied shades of blue (Classic Blue, Baby Blue and Provence), the Ponder palette invites casual daydreaming and calm reflection.

(In particular, we love Provence blue. It’s a gorgeous royal hue which adorns many of Peter Salerno Inc.’s kitchen designs.)

Monument (PANTONE 17-4405) is the anchor of the Ponder palette, the sure-footed gray neutral that keeps it all grounded. It pairs splendidly with all 3 blue hues in this collection (Provence + Monument is a winner).

Peach Quartz, Cornhusk and Stucco remind us of Neapolitan ice cream – a creamy swirl of strawberry, French vanilla & chocolate to keep the Ponder palette playful and appealing.

As PANTONE states in its article regarding Ponder:

The design benefits of a backbone as sturdy as Classic Blue are large. PANTONE is already suggesting color palettes for designing with Classic Blue which are varied and inspiring. It’s a reassurance that a steady base tone can still create audacious, bold color design options. Palettes like Snorkel and Exotic Tastes are proving how bright & diverse designers can be using Classic Blue as a base of reference.

Ponder is available through Pantone Connect for Adobe Creative Cloud.

Classic Blue | The Dependable PANTONE 2020 Color of the Year

It’s like designing with your favorite old pair of blue jeans: comfortable and reliable. The cool, denim backbone of 2020’s color design palette has been named, & with it comes a world of possibilities.

We’re talking about Classic Blue (PANTONE 19-4052), the official 2020 PANTONE Color of the Year. A truly foundational color, Classic Blue signals a return to security. Comfort. Peace. It’s a shade you know instantly, one that makes you feel good.

PANTONE 2020 Color of the Year Classic Blue

Classic Blue’s not here to set the world on fire. And that’s okay. It doesn’t set out to do so – quite the contrary, the PANTONE 2020 Color of the Year is trying to promote cool, calm waters. Unlike recent Color of the Year selections Living Coral (2019) & Ultra Violet (2018), this blue hue won’t dominate the conversation. It’s about stability.

8 Off-White PANTONE Colors To Inspire Your Kitchen Design

8 Off-White PANTONE Colors To Inspire Your Kitchen Design

Anybody can ‘wow’ you with articles about wild color palettes and outside-the-box design schemes. But you ALWAYS need an anchor color for your kitchen design palette. And that’s why we’re here.

You have your base color scheme and design palette for your kitchen design. But where do you go from there? How do you tie everything in with that one perfect neutral tone? Often, off-white colors are the answer. If white is a little too pedestrian, but you need to keep your neutral tone light, off-white is key to your kitchen’s color scheme.

But when you visit the paint aisle, it’s swatches as far as the eye can see. How in the world are you going to narrow down what seems like thousands of off-white options to that single, perfect color for your kitchen?

As always, we turn to the experts at PANTONE, the world’s foremost authority on color, for guidance. Using their one-of-a-kind Color Matching System, recent color trend guides and some of the most awe-inspiring kitchen designs from Peter Salerno Inc., we’ve tuned our focus on 8 fantastic off-white PANTONE colors to perfectly complete your kitchen’s color palette.

Which of these 8 off-white PANTONE shades is your favorite? Let us know in the comments section below!

8 Off-White PANTONE Colors To Inspire Your Kitchen Design

1. Brilliant White

Pantone 11-4001

Color Influence: Blue

The quiet blue undertone of Brilliant White makes it our top choice as an off-white PANTONE kitchen design color. Blue is the “it” kitchen design color of the moment, and Brilliant White allows you to set a neutral white base that still blends beautifully with your design choices.

PANTONE white color Brilliant White

2. Tofu

Pantone 11-4801

Color Influence: Bronze

Tofu is a muted off-white that plays well against wood tones and metallic colors. You don’t have to worry about Tofu dominating the color palette of your kitchen; it’s certainly not an “out front” design color. It does work quite nicely with a variety of stronger tones as a complementary shade.

PANTONE white color Tofu

3. Vanilla Custard

Pantone 12-0815

Color Influence: Orange

In contrast to Tofu, Vanilla Custard definitely brings a little more ‘punch’ to the table. The orange undertone isn’t exactly subtle, and you’ll need to choose a warm kitchen design palette to pair with it. However, in the right setting, Vanilla Custard is certainly a winning selection.

PANTONE Autumn/Winter 2019 Vanilla Custard

4. Sweet Corn

Pantone 11-0106

Color Influence: Yellow/Gold

This is a great choice for a traditional or country kitchen. Sweet Corn brings a charming golden undertone to your kitchen design’s color palette that works well against cozy, familiar options like Dutch blue, wood, and natural greens and browns.

PANTONE white color Sweet Corn

5. White Smoke

Pantone 12-0704

Color Influence: Orange

White Smoke strays a bit further from “white” than most on the list, but its ability to counter-balance strong metallics and dark wood tones lands it a spot on our list. White Smoke isn’t for every kitchen, but it’s a strong enough off-white to hold its own against powerful colors.

PANTONE white color White Smoke

6. White Alyssum

Pantone 11-1001

Color Influence: Beige

Even though White Alyssum falls faintly within the yellow color family, we can’t really “tie it in” to the color itself – it’s simply too delicate. White Alyssum feels like the ivory on a vintage piano – delicate, elegant and charming.

PANTONE white color White Alyssum

7. Bright White

Pantone 11-0601

Color Influence: Green

Bright White provides a really unique green hue which allows it to play in a totally different color palette than every other entry on this list. A kitchen design full of leafy greens, natural tones, earthy colors and plant life will benefit greatly by using Bright White as its off-white neutral.

PANTONE white color Bright White

8. Coconut Milk

Pantone 11-0608

Color Influence: Beige

Much like White Alyssum, Coconut Milk offers the slightest hint of yellow/beige, adding a ‘vintage’ feel to your color palette. Coconut Milk, perhaps unsurprisingly based on its name, also does quite well against hot tropical colors and pastels.
