Trending PANTONE Colors In Your Halloween Home Design

The PANTONE Autumn/Winter 2019-2020 Color Trend Report gave us some great options for Halloween color design this year! When the team at PANTONE gives you multiple shades of orange and some intriguing neutrals to play with, it’s practically your responsibility as a design enthusiast to have some fun with creating Halloween color schemes for your home.

Orange Tiger (PANTONE 16-1358) leads the way as a classic, bright orange that ‘screams Halloween’. From pumpkins to candy corn, Orange Tiger (and its compatriot in the PANTONE Autumn 2019 palette Dark Cheddar) is the centerpiece of any trendy Halloween design.

Once your core Halloween color is established, it’s time to have some fun. Will you pair it with a ghoulish gray like Paloma (PANTONE 16-0000), or a dark and sturdy brown like Rocky Road (PANTONE 19-1234)? Both Paloma and Rocky Road provide great stability and versatility as neutral tones and allow you to play with plenty of other color options in your Halloween decor and design.

If you want to continue a “dark and stormy night” theme established by Paloma, try playing with tones like Vanilla Custard and Evening Blue. If you’re more interested in a “bloody good time”, Creme de Peche and Biking Red might be the way to go.

The 6 Most “Kitchen Design Friendly” PANTONE Colors of Autumn 2019

The 6 Most “Kitchen Design Friendly” PANTONE Colors of Autumn 2019

The PANTONE Autumn & Winter 2019-2020 Color Trend Report is out, and it’s certainly refreshing. PANTONE’s take on Fall 2019 is warmer than usual (we hope that reflects in the weather forecasts, too!), and the time is right to start looking at how these colors and trends reflect on home design – more specifically, design trends for your kitchen.

How can we best apply the PANTONE Autumn/Winter 2019-2020 collection to your kitchen design? Which colors are best suited to transition from the runway to your cabinetry, kitchen island, prep space and tile? What tones have the most potential to turn your kitchen design into a gorgeous space that lasts for years to come?

We’ve singled out 6 colors from this season’s PANTONE Color Trend Report for their visual appeal, versatility, and ability to turn your kitchen from ‘all right’ to ‘AMAZING’!

Do you agree with our color selections? Let us know in the comments below!

The 6 Best PANTONE Fall 2019 Colors for Kitchen Design

1. Bluestone

We’ve been saying for months that blue is the kitchen design color of 2019, and this blue-gray shade is our favorite color for design in the PANTONE Fall 2019 collection. Bluestone is sturdy and versatile, able to be utilized as a primary or complementary design color. We can envision Bluestone in a traditional “Dutch country” style kitchen, or a more transitional design with opulent Swarovski crystals and clean lines. Bluestone pairs brilliantly with any bright neutral, especially our next selection on this list.

2. Vanilla Custard

The PANTONE Autumn/Winter 2019-2020 collection brings the heat, and Vanilla Custard is the warm neutral that brings everything together. It’s hard to find a single color in this season’s collection that doesn’t pair well with Vanilla Custard. Its yellow undertones allow it to serve as a front-and-center neutral tone in a standout transitional kitchen design. If you’re looking for a neutral design color that’s more bold than staid, you can’t do much better than this one.

3. Peach Pink

If PANTONE signals Fall 2019 as a ‘warmer’ season than most autumn collections, we’d better take notice. Peach Pink is a lovely blush tone that doesn’t pull too much focus, and that’s important when using red and orange tones in a kitchen design. It’s a color to be used delicately, for sure, but it’s incredibly pleasing in proper doses. If you’re looking to brighten up your kitchen design, especially in a summer home or a more traditional space, Peach Pink could be a winner for you.

4. Hazel

Of the brown tones in the PANTONE Autumn 2019 collection, Hazel is the warmest and most appealing. Rocky Road and Sugar Almond have their place, for sure, but Hazel offers up the warmth needed to make your neutral and wood tones “pop” in the kitchen. If you’re looking for a color that plays well in transitional kitchen design and warms the space without dominating the landscape, Hazel is a strong option.

5. Paloma

Is Paloma the most aggressive choice? Absolutely not. But it serves an equally important purpose in your kitchen design – a backbone. This light, smoky gray isn’t so dark that it “pulls down” the space, but it’s saturated enough to offer balance and stability. Paloma is a gorgeous option to pair with tones like Bluestone and Vanilla Custard. Try it on your custom cabinets, kitchen island, or backsplash tile for a modern, clean aesthetic.

6. Guacamole

Want a more natural, leafy vibe in your kitchen? Guacamole is a tangy green tone that strays far enough away from conventional “kelly green” and “forest green” to create a conversation starter. As with Peach Pink, you’ll want a smart, experienced kitchen designer to execute Guacamole to its fullest potential in your kitchen, but the rewards far outweigh the cost with a color like this one.

Warm + Fuzzy Fall 2019 PANTONE Neutrals

Warm + Fuzzy Fall 2019 PANTONE Neutrals

Autumn is right around the corner, and PANTONE is already making us feel all warm and fuzzy.

The generally muted neutral colors in fall seasonal design palettes are nowhere to be found in Autumn 2019. In their place, PANTONE has blended a warm, comfortable array of off-whites and browns that looks like a delicious swirl of ice cream.

PANTONE Autumn/Winter 2019 Neutral Colors

The PANTONE Autumn/Winter 2019 collection features some of our favorite off-white tones of the last 5 years. Crème de Pêche and Vanilla Custard dare to come as close to peach and yellow as possible while remaining off-white. Their evocative names are absolutely perfect; the creamy custard of these 2 beautiful, versatile neutral tones allows designers to add a hint of warm color while remaining soft and subtle.

We’ve decided to feature brown tones from both the New York and London PANTONE Autumn/Winter 2019 collections. The warm, sugary feeling each of them provides is so much fun we couldn’t separate them from one another. The browns in this fall’s color trend report each look like a beautiful, rich finished wood floor.

Hazel (London) and Sugar Almond (New York) are obviously “sister tones” in the two Autumn/Winter 2019 reports. Each is a sweet, nutty brown with an appealing richness, and works in parallels with wood grains and tones splendidly.

If Hazel and Sugar Almond are the nuts, then Rocky Road is the delicious chocolate that surrounds them. Most recent PANTONE seasonal color trend reports have “that” earthy dark brown, and Rocky Road fills the niche beautifully for Autumn 2019. Like Brown Granite (Spring 2019) and Emperador (Spring 2018) before it, Rocky Road is the anchor that ties the PANTONE Autumn/Winter 2019 collection together.

Paloma endures”, Laurie Pressman of PANTONE remarks about the gray tone that appears in the Autumn/Winter 2019 Classics collection. Paloma is a classic, elegant gray that provides a wonderful complementary shade to virtually every tone in the seasonal report.
