The importance of Thanksgiving can’t be exaggerated. It’s a holiday that focuses on family, togetherness, love and warmth. For one Thursday in November, family, friends and loved ones gather around a table to celebrate and give thanks for what they have, and give thanks for one another.

Not everyone is so lucky. According to the USDA, nearly 20% of American households experienced food insecurity within the last 2 years. That number includes 8.2 million American children. The challenge of providing enough food to eat for everyone in America may seem impossible – but helping those in need eat for one day a year doesn’t have to be.

For Thanksgiving 2014, Peter Salerno and Peter Salerno Inc. invite you, your family and your place of business to participate in the Thanksgiving Turkey Donation Challenge. It’s inexpensive, it’s easy, and you can’t replace the feeling you get knowing you’re giving a family in need a Thanksgiving turkey.

You may think people are not going hungry in your town. They are. You may think one turkey couldn’t possibly change a family’s life this Thanksgiving. It does.

A turkey costs about $20. We challenge you to go out, buy a turkey, and bring it to your local food pantry or soup kitchen. Trust us – they will be glad to accept it.

How to JOIN the 2014 Thanksgiving Turkey Donation Challenge:

Then, SHARE your participation in the Thanksgiving Turkey Donation Challenge with us! Here’s how:

  1. Buy a Thanksgiving turkey for those in need. (Or buy a few!)
  2. Deliver the turkey(s) to your local food pantry or soup kitchen.
  3. Take a picture of you, your turkey and your delivery.
  4. Post that picture on Twitter or Facebook with the hashtag #TurkeyChallenge.
  5. Follow or mention Peter Salerno Inc. on Twitter and Facebook, and join the conversation!

Here’s the best part: Peter Salerno Inc. will MATCH donations, turkey-for-turkey, up to the first 100 turkeys donated between now and Thanksgiving! All you need to do is post a picture of your turkey donation to Peter Salerno Inc.’s Facebook page with the hashtag #TurkeyChallenge!

Join Peter Salerno and Peter Salerno Inc. in making the 2014 Thanksgiving Turkey Donation Challenge a reality. We encourage you to make it a part of your annual Thanksgiving ritual as well.

Somewhere, someone’s Thanksgiving will mean a lot more because of you.

Scooby Doo and Slimer Visit The Peter Salerno Inc. Showroom

When Peter Salerno walked into his award-winning design showroom in Wyckoff, NJ, this morning, he thought something seemed… funny.

Maybe it was the flickering lights. Maybe it was the chill in the air. Or maybe it was the weird creaking noise coming from the 1959 Corvette that becomes the world’s most amazing bar.

Anthony, Tracy and Gabrielle Salerno soon entered the office, and the four of them tip-toed into the Peter Salerno Inc. showroom quietly. The La Cornue showpiece kitchen seemed normal. All the fixtures were in working order. Nobody could seem to figure out what was wrong.

Finally, Tracy turned to the group and said, “Hey guys… maybe it’s the humongous green ghost that’s hanging out in the Cadillac.”

It seems like Slimer, the famous ghost from “Ghostbusters”, decided to take up residence in the hood of the 1959 Corvette wet bar. (Whether he liked the car or wanted a martini, we’ll never know.)

Either way, Peter Salerno and his family quickly called Scooby Doo and the gang to solve the case. Sadly, all Scooby and Shaggy wanted to do was hang out in one of the showroom kitchens and order a pizza.

On second thought, maybe Peter should have called the Ghostbusters instead.

Peter Salerno (and his custom kitchen & bath design firm Peter Salerno Inc.) is the most award-winning kitchen and bath designer in North America. With over two dozen design awards over the last decade from such prestigious organizations as the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), it was only a matter of time before the rest of the world took notice.

With a great deal of humility and gratitude, Peter Salerno was recently given the opportunity to bring his award-winning custom kitchen designs to the beautiful country of Russia.

Peter Salerno recently returned from his trip to Russia. He is designing and installing two kitchens in the historic section of Moscow alongside his long-time friend and architect Bob Zampolin.

While in Russia, Peter took the appropriate time to take in the beauty and history of Moscow, including his first trip to the Kremlin.

Representatives from the NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association) recently visited Peter Salerno Inc.’s award-winning design showroom in Wyckoff, NJ, to film Peter Salerno for an upcoming presentation at the 2015 KBIS Conference.

The KBIS presentation, which will center around the importance of kitchen and bath designers becoming NKBA Certified, will feature video testimonials from some of North America’s finest kitchen & bath designers.

“Being NKBA certified lends instant credibility to my business.” – Peter Salerno

The KBIS video feature was filmed by Andrew Mackenzie, NKBA Manager of Certification, and Ash Sukumar, NKBA Marketing Communications Specialist. Andrew and Ash made for a knowledgeable, efficient team, and Peter Salerno noted privately to his team how comfortable he felt working with them on the project.

The video piece centered around Peter Salerno’s personal experience as an NKBA certified designer and CMKBD (Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer) in the industry. Peter spoke at length about the value of continuing education for all designers, and was very clear about the importance of becoming NKBA Certified.

“My clients can sit in my office while we discuss their project, look at the wall and see my certification diploma from the NKBA,” Peter said during filming. “They know they’re in good hands. {Being NKBA certified] lends instant credibility to my business.”

Topics covered in the video include Peter’s NKBA certification process, why becoming NKBA certified is a strong business investment, and a few personal anecdotes about Peter Salerno’s father Ross “Maestro Rosolino” Salerno and his early days in the design industry.

The KBIS video shoot was also attended by Peter Salerno’s son Anthony, who is an integral member of the Peter Salerno Inc. family. Speaking directly to the value of becoming NKBA certified, Anthony Salerno is currently studying for his NKBA certification as well.

One of the NKBA representatives’ favorite facets of the Peter Salerno Inc. showroom was the freshly updated “La Cornue” showpiece kitchen, complete with an update to its stunning Swarovski crystal ceiling.
