5 Year Anniversary: Our Most Popular French Kitchen Design Photos
As part of our “Design Your Lifestyle” 5th Anniversary Series, we’re re-visiting some of our most popular and well-read articles of the last half-decade. Statistically, our most popular kitchen design article of the last 5 years is this one – about Peter Salerno Inc.’s award-winning traditional kitchen design inspired by the countryside regions of France. This piece combines some new content with a look at many of the features from that article. Enjoy!
If you followed Design Your Lifestyle from the very beginning, you know all about Peter Salerno’s 2013 visit to France and the inspiration he drew from beautiful French kitchen design. From the painted kitchens of Oise to the rustic stonework in Vence, Peter’s travels provided a stunning array of diverse, spectacular interior design work.
In 2013, Peter and his team used that French design inspiration to present one of their most lauded kitchen designs, pulling in elements from the finest kitchens in France. We’re proud to present several photos of this Princeton, New Jersey kitchen, of which we’re exceptionally proud.

Upon entry into the kitchen, you’ll notice the use of custom stonework, an open floor plan and extensive ambient light, all of which are drawn from Vence kitchen design. The light painted cabinets are a feature of the Picardie region. And, of course, what would a beautiful French-inspired kitchen be without an authentic La Cornue oven (below)?

In our next post, we’ll focus on our bathroom design for this beautiful home in Princeton, and how we tied in elements of French-inspired design to that space.
